Former Dancing On Ice judge, I’m A Celebrity runner-up and ex-Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts, is the latest star to be confirmed as a guest judge for BBC One’s Saturday night entertainment show, Let It Shine.
Ashley will join Let It Shine as a guest judge for the semi-final stage of the competition (Saturday 18th February) joining permanent judges Gary Barlow, Martin Kemp and Dannii Minogue for the second of three live shows.
She follows in the footsteps of Amber Riley and Lulu who have appeared as guest judges so far this series and Ricki Lake who will be this weekend’s guest judge for the quarter-final.
Ashley is best known for being a member of the Pussycats Dolls who sold over 54 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling girl groups of all time. Speaking about her latest judging role, Ashley said:
“I’m beyond excited to be joining Let It Shine and taking a judging seat beside the brilliant Gary, beautiful Dannii and handsome Martin.
I’m looking forward to sharing my experiences of being in a band and I can’t wait to see what surprises the boys have in store for their live semi- final performances!”
With a career as a singer, songwriter, dancer, choreographer and television personality, she will be able to offer stellar expertise in dancing and singing and advice for the budding performers as the bands will be tested on their dance ability as well as singing techniques.
In the semi-final double bill the four remaining Let It Shine bands will go head to head in a bid to impress the judges and audience at home.
The opening performance will see the remaining bands each perform a classic Take That hit, before they are joined on stage for a very special collaboration with Take That themselves, Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald to perform the song Shine.
Each band will then perform this week’s songs, which will each include a dance break to keep their place in the competition. In the results show the two bands with the lowest public votes will each perform a classic Beatles song in the dramatic sing off.
The two bands will then be disbanded and the boys will be judged as ten individuals. Gary, Dannii, Martin and Ashley will then decide which five boys will carry on as a band to the grand finale of Let It Shine on Saturday.
The guest judge for the Let It Shine final is yet to be announced.
