10-16 MAY

As Mick takes a swig of his tea and spits it out, Liam laughs, having laced it with washing powder, pleased to have got his own back.

Determined to make Liam pay, Mick locks him in the tool shed, where a frightened Liam calls out in vain.

Meanwhile, Kit’s taken aback to come face to face with Lou in the pub who tells Tracy that she and Kit go way back.

When Mick sends Liam for bacon sarnies he fails to come back and Gary and Maria find him skulking in the café, where Liam opens up about how Mick locked him in the tool shed.

With Maria’s horrified, Gary returns to the yard to find Mick looking for something in the shed and locks him in to give him a taste of his own medicine, before telling Mick he’s fired.

Later, Mick corners Gary outside and punches him to the ground. Grabbing an empty bottle, Gary staggers to his feet, but suddenly Kit steps between them, ordering Gary to drop the bottle and let Mick go. Will Gary agree?

On Friday, Bernie calls at Kit’s flat, hoping he’ll open up to her about what’s bothering him, and during a special flashback episode focusing on Kit’s childhood, we see a young Kit finding himself on the wrong side of the law and we uncover what made him the man he is today.

Three young actors take on the roles of Kit, Mick and Lou as we flick between their teenage years, the secrets that bind them together and their life as it is today.

Meanwhile, following the fight between Gary and Mick, Maria and Lou row over the situation, each believing their own husband’s version of events.

When Gary and Maria confront Kit, accusing him of corruption, Kit retaliates by painting Gary as the villain, reminding him he was armed with a bottle.

Letting herself into Kit’s flat, Bernie remembers the photo she found in the bin and demands to know why he’s covering for Mick.
