A Walford male meets his fate in The Vic this Christmas Day in EastEnders

But will the events leading up to that moment give any clues as to who?

Christmas fever is in full swing and as the residents of Walford settle down for a day of festivities.

Waking up alone in No.23B with no electricity or heating, Bernie tries to put on a brave face and after an emotional call with Karen, pleads with Keanu to speak to Sharon so that their mum can come home.

Refusing to, Keanu uninvites Bernie to the wedding, fearing that his involvement in Albie’s kidnap will come to light.

Plucking up the courage, Bernie heads to No.55 to interrupt the Mitchell’s raucous Christmas lunch demanding an audience with Phil. But why is she there?

At No.45, Anna and Gina join Cindy and the Beales for Christmas lunch, but after learning George is on his own in The Vic making preparations for Keanu and Sharon’s wedding reception, Cindy secretly heads there to invite him over for a drink.

Later at No.45, as Cindy and George take a trip down memory lane, Elaine and Ian become jealous.

Sensing Elaine is upset, George thinks on his feet and lies that he’s booked her a romantic trip away in a hotel.

When Stacey collects Charli, things are tense between herself and Jack and the Slaters enjoy a festive family lunch.

As Suki prepares to leave Walford, she’s stopped in her tracks by a surprise visitor. Who could it be?

Later as she goes to make her exit from Walford for good, Suki receives a panicked phone call from Vinny, forcing her to return to No.41.

When Jack heads to No.41 to check in on Suki under false pretences, Jack is the last person Suki wants help from and she dismisses him.

Meanwhile, Sharon and Keanu get ready for their wedding day at No.43 with Zack and Martin, whilst Sharon tries to mask her guilt.

At the church, Sharon is a vision in white as she walks down the aisle with Albie. Sharon and Keanu are about to say ‘I do’ before Phil arrives. But why is he there?

Back at No.55, the Mitchells receive a surprise video message from Lola who reveals that Jay and Honey are both running the London Marathon. With Lola’s words about family ringing true, Phil heads to The Vic.

Back in The Vic, Denise, Kathy, Linda, Sharon, Stacey and Suki seek solace as they all try to process the events of the day, but none of them could have predicted what was about to happen, and in a flash, their lives are permanently changed forever as a Walford male meets his fate in The Vic.

On Boxing Day, six of Walford’s much-loved matriarchs desperately try to deal with the fallout of what happened on Christmas Day.

When Elaine makes to go back to The Vic to collect some overnight belongings, George convinces her otherwise as they unknowingly avoid the chaos that is unfolding inside as the nightmare continues for The Six.

Later on in the week, arriving back from her mini-break, Elaine is shocked to learn about the events of Christmas Day.

As the residents of Walford try to come to terms with recent events, one Walford resident overhears something she shouldn’t and can’t resist spreading the gossip far and wide.

Against Anna and Gina’s advice, Elaine forges ahead with a plan to bring the residents of Albert Square together. But with emotions running high, things don’t go to plan.
