Angela Scanlon to host The Apprentice: Unfinished Business

The new spin-off series will also be available on BBC Sounds.

Following the news that comedian Tom Allen had chosen to step away from hosting The Apprentice: You're Fired, the BBC have revealed a complete revamp of the show to support the 20th series of The Apprentice, now called The Apprentice: Unfinished Business and as well as airing on BBC Two, it'll be available as a podcast on BBC Sounds.

Hosted by broadcaster, podcaster and author Angela Scanlon, who recently took part in The Celebrity Apprentice, The Apprentice: Unfinished Business will see the first interviews with fired candidates each week.

As soon as viewers have had their latest boardroom drama fix from The Apprentice, they will now be able to join the conversation straight away with Angela and a host of industry experts and celebrity fans.

Together with the fired candidate, Angela and her panel will dissect all the drama from that week’s task, providing fans with in-depth analysis and behind-the-scenes intel.

On hosting the show, Angela Scanlon said "Having recently gone toe-to-toe with Lord Sugar in the boardroom, I have never understood or loved this iconic show more! To be part of The Apprentice as it heads into its 20th year is an absolute treat. I can't wait to get suited and booted and sit down with candidates and celeb fans each week to unpack the drama, make sense of the madness and hopefully walk away with some business advice while I’m at it!"

To which Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment Commissioning at the BBC, added "With self-confessed Apprentice superfan Angela Scanlon at the helm, The Apprentice: Unfinished Business promises more in-depth analysis than ever. There will be fresh insight into the weekly tasks, business tips and hints, brilliant special guests and candid chat with the fired candidates for audiences to look forward to throughout the series available on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer plus for the first time ever via BBC Sounds."

And Paul Broadbent, Director of Programmes at Naked (a Fremantle label), said "As we approach the milestone series 20 of The Apprentice, the show continues to go from strength to strength. We’re reinventing our companion show for our loyal audience to analyse each episode, through fun and engaging content, that can not only be watched but also listened to. We’re thrilled to have former celebrity candidate Angela Scanlon lead the conversation and invite the fans to join in on the chat."

Produced by Naked (a Fremantle label) and MGM Alternative UK, The Apprentice: Unfinished Business will be executive produced by Eve Winstanley, Paul Broadbent and Dom Bird with Rachael Hankinson as Production Executive.

The Apprentice" Unfinished Business starts Thursday 29th January at 10.05pm on BBC Two
