Anthony’s surprise return turns to shock as Patrick’s attacker is revealed in EastEnders

Can the wedding survive Oscar’s shock confession?

 23-29 AUGUST

Anthony Trueman arrives in Walford early to surprise Patrick ahead of his and Yolande’s wedding, but soon discovers his father has been injured in an attack.

No longer able to cope with his guilt, Oscar goes to Patrick and confesses to attacking him. Patrick is so upset by Oscar’s confession that it triggers a panic attack, and the Trueman-Fox family rushes in.

As accusations and recriminations fly, Anthony demands they report Oscar, but Jack insists this must be Patrick’s decision.

When Peter realises that Lauren has been covering for Oscar, she has questions to answer. And Lauren tells Howie to sort the situation with Oscar, or she’ll reveal all.

As Anthony continues to thwart his efforts to talk Patrick round, Oscar is at the police station, convinced he’s going back to prison.

With Yolande worried about Patrick, Anthony agrees to a truce with Howie. However, Yolande is heartbroken when Patrick breaks the news that he wants to postpone the wedding.
