Arthur blackmails Laurel as he plans a move to Australia using Ray’s money in Emmerdale

But does Laurel have other plans for Ray’s money?

Too distracted by his phone to serve customers, Arthur earns a telling off from Gabby. After an explosive row, Arthur quits his job, leaving Laurel guilty about all the upheaval in her son’s life.

When Laurel catches Arthur searching for his passport, he declares that he’s moving to Australia. Questioning how he’ll find the money, she intercepts an envelope and discovers a shocking amount of cash.

She's furious when he confesses that the money was in Ray's bag along with the drugs she previously disposed of.

In a heated exchange, Arthur threatens to tell people that she hit him, causing Laurel to break down in tears at the deterioration of their relationship. When Laurel catches Arthur searching for the envelope full of Ray’s money, he apologises for holding her to ransom and pleads with her to let him use the money to travel.

Once Arthur leaves, Laurel retrieves the envelope of money from its hiding place and puts it in her bag for safety. And later, when Laurel overhears Marlon and Rhona discussing their debt, she makes a decision.
