Channel 4 reveals the massive twist in Bradley Walsh's Million Pound Shot

The one-off quiz event will air this Sunday.

Before tonight, very little was known about Channel 4's new show Bradley Walsh's Million Pound Shot, with teasers promising "a million pounds on the line" and "contestants [who] are going to take the gamble of their lives" as well as "a massive twist, unlike anything seen on television ever before."

Channel 4 has now released a bit more information on the brand new one-off quiz event in which three plucky contestants step up for the chance to win up to £1 million and in a UK television first, will be staking their own money in an attempt to win up to £1 million.

We also know that throughout the programme, Bradley describes it as the show where you have to “put your money where your mouth is.”

Contestants will bring their own bank cards, and will bet cash according to how confident they are in their answers to general knowledge questions. Each question will give them the chance to win Bet Balls with a monetary value, which they will have the option to either cash out, or risk, by firing them into the Million Pound Shot Machine to attempt to win £1 million.

But we have been promised that further twists will unfold throughout the event, promising a night of drama unlike anything Bradley has hosted before, bursting with tension, big moments and huge curveballs.

Speaking ahead of the show airing, host Bradley Walsh said "This programme is unlike anything we’ve seen on British TV before, and when I heard about this format I thought it was one of the most original and surprising quiz shows I’d ever encountered. Alongside playing with their own money, there are more twists and turns along the way – I’m excited for everyone to see how it plays out."

Adding "They’re going to have to be willing to take big risks, and back themselves right to the very end. This is not a game for the faint-hearted! This game is all about confidence and bravado. Putting your money where your mouth is will not be simple when it’s your own cold hard cash."

"So the contestants are going to have to be cool, calm and willing to take a risk. The game is always in their control and I’m hoping for confident, bright players with a good breadth of general knowledge and a sense of fun."

Bradley Walsh's Million Pound Shot airs Sunday 1st November at 9pm on Channel 4
