Cleo gives in to Abe's controlling behaviour as he gets John Paul on his side in Hollyoaks

With no one on her side, will history repeat itself?


FOR WEEK COMMENCING 26 AUGUST

At Casa McQueen the family are worried about Cleo’s health after a dizzy spell.


Buying Cleo a dressy outfit, Abe says its to put her in the mood for baby making, but Cleo feels unwell and it’s the last thing on her mind. As they clash over his baby plans, Cleo tells him she is frightened of being pregnant with her health problems, but Abe is unsympathetic.


In The Dog, Abe challenges Joel about his drug use. but he is dismissive, and goes on to tell Joel that Cleo is struggling again with her eating disorder.



Back at the house, Abe suprises Cleo with an escort for the night. Horrified, Cleo pays her to leave, whilst an unimpressed Abe pressures Cleo, saying she's renegaing on their deal to have an open relationship.



As they're interrupted by Sally, Cleo finds herself in an intervention from John Paul and Sally that spirals into a row about Abe. Cleo feels cornered as John Paul shares his fears as well his own experiences with addiction.


The morning after being abused by Abe, Cleo finds him acting like nothing has happened. When he suggests they both spend the day together, Cleo shows him the bruises he inflicted before he heads off to work.


Later at Casa McQueen, Abe tells Cleo he has anger issues and begs for her to take him back. But despite Abe seemingly having wheedled his way back in, Cleo privately tells John Paul she needs his help to escape.


When John Paul comes looking for her, Cleo plays happy families as both she and Abe lie, insisting their relationship woes are sorted.


When Abe tells John Paul he is worried about Cleo’s mental health, he plants seeds in his head finding an ally. But when Cleo breaks down to John Paul, Abe has got to him and without his support, she gives in to Abe and back home at dinner, history repeats itself.


Later, John Paul comes to see Cleo and Abe continues to pull the wool over his eyes when he is concerned to work out they are trying for a baby.


Exhausted Cleo complies with his demands and tries again to talk to John Paul but she ends up turning on him, becoming more isolated.
