On Monday (1st October) Sinead breaks down as she confides in Beth that she’s 12 weeks pregnant but has been bleeding for the last four weeks. And Beth urges Sinead to go to the hospital about her bleeding.
As Daniel and Sinead attend her 12 week scan on Wednesday (3rd October), they're thrilled to see their baby on the screen. When Daniel leaves the room, Sinead tells the sonographer about the bleeding and is examined by an obstetrician who tells her she has found a lump on her cervix that needs further investigation.
After being warned that the lump may be cancerous, Sinead is told that she might need chemotherapy and should consider terminating her pregnancy.
Sinead decides to keep her heartbreak to herself after Daniel reveals that he's had a letter from his mum but wants nothing to do with her, as she and the baby are the only things that matter to him.
Masking her inner turmoil she lies to the Beth that everything was fine.
On Friday (5th October) Sinead receives a letter from the hospital and shoves it in her pocket unopened. As Daniel talks about the baby Sinead becomes upset but blames it on her hormones.
In a bid to do something romantic, Daniel plans an alternative wedding for him and Sinead... tomorrow! Secretly making a biopsy appointment for the morning, Sinead claims she has a dentist appointment and agrees to meet Daniel back at the flat before Tracy’s wedding, unaware he has other plans.
