When Dee-Dee admits to Eileen that she’s nervous of becoming too attached to Laila, she's advised to follow her heart.

Spotting Dee-Dee cooing over Laila, Ronnie is touched by the sight and Dee-Dee admits to Alya that she’s started to bond with Laila. Alya urges her to rethink her plans and assures her that James will forgive her in time.

Later, Dee-Dee tells Michael that she’s planning to return to work as she’s feeling much better. But when she finds Roy in the cafe with a candlelit cake in honour of Hayley’s birthday, Dee-Dee becomes emotional.
