Can they find a donor before time runs out?

 22-28 AUGUST

Ahead of the donor drive at the community centre, the Fox-Truemans continue their efforts to find a stem cell match for Denise.

However, as Denise’s condition worsens, she’s put in a medically induced coma.

Back on the Square, a missed lead from an ancestry website offers a glimmer of hope when Kim learns that Denise has a half-brother.

As the Fox-Truemans continue their search for Denise’s half-brother, Darnell, with time running out, Jack takes matters into his own hands. Unbeknownst to him, Kim has already made contact, and Darnell agrees to meet them.

However, he's unprepared for the real reason they've tracked him down and is left reeling by the news of Denise’s illness. Despite his reservations, Darnell agrees to visit her, but the experience proves overwhelming, and he makes a hasty exit.

Jack is relieved when Denise shows signs of improvement and is brought out of her coma. However, the family are dealt another setback when doctors reveal her treatment is not working as hoped, making the search for a stem cell donor more urgent.

As Denise takes comfort in news of Darnell, Jack becomes increasingly determined to find him. But when he finally does, alongside his daughter Grace, emotions run high, leaving the family fearing they may have lost their best chance of helping Denise.

Returning to the hospital, Jack delivers the bad news, sparking a furious reaction from Kim.

EastEnders continues Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One with first look episodes available from 6am on BBC iPlayer
