BBC One has released a first look at Babies, a new six-part drama written and directed by Stefan Golaszewski and starring Paapa Essiedu and Siobhán Cullen, alongside Jack Bannon and Charlotte Riley.

Babies is described as a warm and touching drama which explores the delicate tightrope of love and loss in a young couple's desire to become parents. Lisa, played by Siobhán Cullen and Stephen, played by Paapa Essiedu, are dealing with the painful struggle of pregnancy loss while life continues around them.


However, despite facing dark times of grief and loneliness, they are finding their way through it with a burning sense of hope, humour, and love, realising the strength of their relationship, which will ultimately bring them closer than ever.

Produced by Snowed-In Productions and The Money Men Studios, in association with All3Media International, Babies has been written and directed by Stefan Golaszewski, who is also an executive producer alongside Ruth Kenley-Letts for Snowed-In Productions, Neil Blair and Richard Laxton, and Danielle Scott-Haughton for the BBC. And is series produced by Lyndsay Robinson with Kelly Duffell as producer.
