Prepare for more undercover over-the-top antics!

BBC One has released a further number of first look images from the second series of their hit comedy-thriller Black Ops, which launched in August 2023, and tells the story of Dom and Kay, played by Gbemisola Ikumelo and Hammed Animashaun, who both return for series two, alongside Akemnji Ndifornyen as gang boss Tevin.

Co-created by Gbemisola and Akemnji, the first series of Black Ops followed the two Police Community Support Officers as they joined the Met Police in the hope of cleaning up their community.

However, as we quickly saw in the first series, it wasn't long before Dom and Kay found themselves unwittingly thrust into the murky world of deep-cover infiltration, with their lives becoming more of a fiasco than Donnie Brasco!

Series two kicks off with Dom and Kay now working for MI5. They may be in the world of espionage, but their jobs are decidedly unglamorous. Not everyone can be James Bond, someone has to do the admin.

All that changes when Dom meets a charismatic spy called Steve, offering the promise of more exciting, classified work. Dom and Kay soon find themselves embroiled in an escapade that tests their wits, their friendship, and their love of Carnival to the limits.

Series two will also see a number of impress guest stars, including Tom Stourton, Nigel Havers, Annette Badland, Ed Speleers and Cathy Tyson.

The first series of Black Ops drew an audience of 2.3m for the first episode and averaged 1.6m across the full series (BARB 28 Day 4 Screen) and launches in the US on Hulu on Tuesday 25th February.

Created by Gbemisola Ikumelo, Akemnji Ndifornyen, Joe Tucker and Lloyd Woolf, Black Ops is a BBC Studios Comedy Production and co-produced with Mondo Deluxe. Series two will be directed by Akaash Meeda, produced by Kim Crowther and executive produced by Josh Cole, Seb Barwell, Rhianna Adams-Christie.

Black Ops returns in January on BBC One
