BBC One has released four first-look images from their new thriller Boat Story starring Daisy Haggard and Paterson Joseph.

The six-part thriller, written by Harry and Jack Williams, also stars Tchéky Karyo, Joanna Scanlan, Craig Fairbrass and Phil Daniels.

At its heart, Boat Story is an action-thriller about two ordinary people whom the world has turned its back on, and whether they’re willing - or desperate enough - to do something crazy to get what they want in life. Pushed to the very edge, can they trust each other and get away with their lives and the money?

Boat Story embodies twists and turns with character-driven, surprising storytelling. Off-beat humour contrasts with high-octane action sequences against the spectacular backdrop of the beautiful, windswept Yorkshire coastline.

These first-look images show Daisy Haggard and Paterson Joseph as unsuspecting leads Janet and Samuel, clutching a haul of illegal drugs found on a shipwrecked boat.

The pair can’t believe their luck as they agree to sell it and split the cash. But on their tail is a sharp-suited gangster known as ‘The Tailor’, played by Tchéky Karyo.

Produced by Two Brothers Pictures in association with all All3Media International, Boat Story is produced by Matthew Bird and executive produced by Harry and Jack Williams alongside Christopher Aird, Sarah Hammond and Daniel Walker for Two Brothers Pictures and Tommy Bulfin and Nawfal Faizullah for the BBC.

The first block was directed by Harry and Jack Williams with Alice Troughton directing block two and Daniel Nettheim directing block three.

Outside of the UK, Boat Story will air on Amazon Freevee in the US and Germany.
