Harriet Walter and Steve Coogan lead James Graham's new two-part drama based on Margaret Thatcher's final ever interview with Brian Walden.
Today Channel 4 has released a number of first look images from James Graham's new two-part drama Brian and Margaret.
Airing in 2025, Brian and Margaret is based on political editor and TV producer, Rob Burley’s book Why is This Lying Bastard Lying to Me?: Searching for the Truth on Political TV.
Steve Coogan stars as 'much feared inquisitor' Brian Walden alongside Harriet Walter as Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and the drama follows what happened in 1989 when the two came together for their last ever interview.
Little did they know that they were about to embark on one of the most famous political exchanges of all time. The 45-minute showdown became a national talking point and set in train a series of events that ended with Margaret’s resignation.
Afterwards, they never spoke again.
Produced by Baby Cow Productions, Brian and Margaret is directed by Stephen Frears, produced by Dan Winch and executive produced by Sarah Monteith, Delyth Scudamore and Rupert Majendie.
Brian and Margaret will air in 2025 on Channel 4
