5 has released a first look at their upcoming six-part adaptation of Graham Norton's bestselling novel Forever Home, which follows the story of a second wife dealing with the memories of the woman who went before her.

When her older partner Robert Barrie, played by Douglas Henshall, sees his dementia worsen, Carol Crottie, played by Amy Nuttall, starts to wonder if the reason he won’t leave his home has something to do with the whereabouts of his first wife, who ran off with Robert’s brother 20 years ago, leaving behind their two young children Kaden and Sally, played by Lewis Cope and Jenny Walser.

When Robert’s anxiety about the house’s hidden basement rises, Carol’s curiosity is piqued as she and her mother, Moira Crottie, played by Denise Welch, investigate the whereabouts of Robert’s first wife, Joan. But the secrets Robert has kept will take a long time to untangle.

Cast also includes Shane Zaza as Daniel Evans and Kevin Whately as Silent Dave.
