FIRST LOOK Harlan Coben's The Stranger

The eight-part Netflix adaptation was announced earlier this year and will star Jennifer Saunders, Richard Armitage, Hannah John-Kamen, Siobhan Finneran and Kadiff Kirwan.

These first look photos show Richard Armitage as Adam Price, a man who has a seemingly perfect life - two wonderful son and a watertight marriage, until one night a stranger sits next to him in a bar and tells him a devastating secret about his wife, Corinne.

Adam then finds himself tangled in something far darker than even Corinne’s deception, and realises that if he doesn’t make exactly the right moves, the conspiracy he’s stumbled into will not only ruin lives but it will end them.

They also show Siobhan Finneran as DS Johanna Griffin, a punchy police detective who finds her pragmatic approach to police work compromised when her investigation into the matter becomes deeply personal.

Elsewhere, we catch first glimpses at Kadiff Kirwan as DC Wesley Ross, Hannah John-Kamen as a mysterious stranger who exposes people’s secrets, dropping bombshells that will shatter lives and Jennifer Saunders as Johanna’s closest friend Heidi whose daughter leaves for university leaving her with a want for adventure.

When the series was announced, Harlan said "The Stranger was one of my most challenging novels — and definitely the most twisted. When I wrote it, I never imagined that I’d be part of a ‘Dream Team’ of extraordinary talent bringing it to life. I can’t wait to reunite with Danny, Nicola, and Netflix on this remarkable project.”

Further cast members include Shaun Dooley, Paul Kaye, Dervla Kirwan, Anthony Head and Stephen Rea.
