Netflix has released the trailer and a number of first look images from One Day, a decades-spanning love story, based on the worldwide bestseller by David Nicholls.

Adapted by Nicole Taylor from David Nicholls' 2009 novel, One Day is a new 14-part romantic drama that tells the story of Emma Morley and Dexter Mayhew who, on 15th July 1988, the night of their graduation, speak for the very first time.

The next morning, they go their separate ways but where will they be on this one ordinary day the next year, and the year after that, and every year that follows?

Each episode finds Dex and Em, one year older, on this one particular date, as they grow and change, move together and apart, experience joy and heartbreak.

Ambika Mod plays Emma alongside Leo Woodall as Dexter and Eleanor Tomlinson as Dexter's wife, Sylvie.

The series is produced by Drama Republic, Universal International Studios and Focus Features and was written by Nicole Taylor with Anna Jordan, Vinay Patel and Bijan Sheibani and directed by Molly Manners, Kate Hewitt, John Hardwick and Luke Snellin.

One Day launches Thursday 8th February on Netflix
