FIRST LOOK Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story

Netflix and Shondaland have revealed a first look photo and official title for the Bridgerton prequel centred on Queen Charlotte’s rise to prominence and power.


The upcoming limited series is a Bridgerton-verse prequel that tells the story of how the young Queen's marriage to King George sparked both a great love story and a societal shift, creating the world of the Ton inherited by the characters in Bridgerton.


Young Queen Charlotte will be played by India Amarteifio who'll be joined by Bridgerton originals Golda Rosheuvel as older Queen Charlotte, Adjoa Andoh as Lady Agatha Danbury and Ruth Gemmell as Lady Violet Bridgerton.


Elsewhere, the cast also includes Michelle Fairley as Princess Augusta, Corey Mylchreest as Young King George and in her television debut, Arsema Thomas as Young Agatha Danbury.


Rounding out the cast will be Sam Clemmett as Young Brimsley, Freddie Dennis as Reynolds, Richard Cunningham as Lord Bute, Tunji Kasim as Adolphus, Rob Maloney as the Royal Doctor, Cyril Nri as Lord Danbury and Hugh Sachs as an older Brimsley.


Executive producers for the series will be showrunner and writer Shonda Rimes, director Tom Verica and Betsy Beers.
