Netflix has released a number of first look images alongside a first look teaser from their upcoming Tom Ripley adaptation, Ripley.

Andrew Scott stars as Tom Ripley in Netflix's new eight-part drama Ripley, based on Patricia Highsmith’s bestselling Tom Ripley novels.

Ripley which follows what happens when Tom, a grifter scraping by in early 1960s New York, is hired by a wealthy man to travel to Italy to try to convince his vagabond son to return home. Tom's acceptance of the job is the first step into a complex life of deceit, fraud and murder.

Starring alongside Andrew Scott will be Dakota Fanning as Marge Sherwood and Johnny Flynn as Dickie Greenleaf.

Ripley, directed and written by Steven Zaillian, is co-produced by Showtime and Endemol Shine North America in association with Entertainment 360 and Filmrights with Steven Zaillian, Garrett Basch, Clayton Townsend, Guymon Casady, Ben Forkner, Sharon Levy and Philipp Keel of Diogenes serving as executive producers and Andrew Scott as a producer on the series.

Ripley launches Thursday 4th April on Netflix
