FIRST LOOK The Blame

ITV1 has released a first look at its gripping new autumn drama The Blame, which stars Michelle Keegan and Douglas Booth and dives into secrets, suspicion, and systemic corruption, all beneath the surface of this seemingly quiet town.

Promising complex characters, unexpected twists and a riveting mystery, The Blame is based on Charlotte Langley's debut novel, and follows DI Emma Crane, played by Michelle Keegan, and DI Tom Radley, played by Douglas Booth.

As they dig deeper into what starts as a tragic death that sends shockwaves through the town of Wakestead, a murder enquiry soon spirals into a tangled web of lies, institutional cover-ups and moral compromise.

As the clock ticks and trust fractures, Crane must navigate both a murder investigation and the treacherous politics inside her own team.

The six-part drama also stars Ian Hart as DCI Kenneth Walker, Nathan Mensah as DC Lewis Brimah, Nigel Boyle as digital forensic technician Neil Shergill, Joe Armstrong as ice-skating coach Kyle Frasier, and Matilda Freeman as Sophie Madsen.

It also stars Gavin Spokes as DC Joel Stevens, Josh Bolt as DC Douglas James and Ceallach Spellman as PC Callum Drummond, part of the Wakestead Police team.

Made by Quay Street Productions in association with FIFTH SEASON, The Blame is written by Megan Gallagher, alongside series co-writers Ashley Sanders and Namsi Khan, series produced by Matt Strevens, co-produced by Sara Huxley, with the first three episodes directed by Bex Rycroft and episodes 4-6 edited by Claire Tailyour.

The Blame launches this autumn on ITV1
