A first look at Jack Thorne's new drama about the phone hacking scandal for ITV1.

ITV1 has released a number of further first look images from their new seven-part drama about the phone hacking scandal. The Hack, which has been written by Jack Thorne, with David Tennant, Robert Carlyle and Toby Jones in leading roles and produced by the team from Mr Bates vs The Post Office.



Set between 2002 and 2012, the drama deftly interweaves two real life stories, the work of investigative journalist Nick Davies, played by David Tennant, who uncovered evidence of phone hacking at the News of the World.



Running parallel will be the story of the investigation into the unsolved murder of private investigator Daniel Morgan, led by former Met Police Detective Chief Superintendent Dave Cook, played by Robert Carlyle. With Toby Jones playing former Editor-in Chief of The Guardian, Alan Rusbridger.



Further images, reveal a first look at Steve Pemberton as Rupert Murdoch, Jordan Renzo as James Murdoch, Dougray Scott as Gordon Brown. and Eve Myles as Jacqui Hames.


The cast also includes Rose Leslie, Adrian Lester, Katherine Kelly, Kevin Doyle, Neil Maskell, Lara Pulver, Lee Ingleby, Pip Torrens, Lisa McGrillis, Sean Pertwee, Robert Bathurst, Richard Pepple, Nadia Albina, Phil Davis, Ace Bhatti, Charlie Brooks, and Steve Pemberton.


Co-produced by ITV Studios and Stan, Australia, The Hack is directed by Lewis Arnold, series produced by Abi Bach and executive produced by Patrick Spence alongside Jack Thorne, Joe Williams, Lewis Arnold and David Tennant. Annalisa Dinnella has written one of the episodes and is co-writing two of the episodes with Jack Thorne.


The Hack will air this autumn on ITV1
