Flirty Dancing to return to Channel 4

The feel-good hit of 2019 has been extended, moved to an earlier time slot and given a one-off celebrity special!

Choreographer-come-cupid, Ashley Banjo returns to host the new six-part series which will now air at 8pm instead of 10pm. Channel 4 have also announced that there will be a standalone hour-long celebrity special for Stand Up To Cancer.

Flirty Dancing sees two disillusioned daters taught two halves of the same bespoke dance across a week. Trained separately, they each work with Ashley and his team to get to grips with their routine and pair then meet for the first time in a cinematic setting.

As they meet, they don’t speak, just dance and decide afterwards, based on the dance alone whether they want to go on a second date.

Shot throughout the UK, in a range of glorious, real world locations and with two sets of singletons paired up per show, will it be love at first dance?

Speaking about the series returning, Ashley said "I loved working with our singles last year, creating something special for each of them and watching the sparks fly. For me the show provides an incredibly unique experience for people to meet through dance, and it is so rewarding (as well as nerve-racking!) to watch it all play out. I can’t wait to help create some romance for all our new hopeful daters.”

The first series, which aired in January this year, left viewers and critics alike in love with the fresh new spin on the dating and dancing genres. Attracting an average 888,000 viewers with a 6.0% share, this is up on the 10pm slot average. The series also ranked second in the time slot amongst Adults 16-34 and first amongst Women 16-34.

Applications are now open here if you would like to take part.
