When Jenny finds out, how long can Glenda keep a brave face for?
FOR WEEK COMMENCING 25TH MARCH
In the Rovers, Jenny tells Daisy and Glenda about her plans for a speed dating night and Glenda reckons it’s a great idea, whilst Daisy smiles through gritted teeth.
When Christina texts to say she is coming to stay for two weeks, Jenny and Daisy are horrified and Ryan is shocked to see Daisy telling her mum that she is not welcome and suggests she goes to visit her friend in Amsterdam.
Calling in the Rovers, Christina explains that her passport has expired and she’s nowhere to stay. When Ryan insists she should stay and have a drink as it’s the least they can do after she lent them all that money to buy the pub, Christina’s intrigued. Will Christina blow their cover?
With Jenny heading off to a posh dinner with Rita and Daisy going away with Ryan, a glammed up Glenda agrees to host the speed dating night at the Rovers.
However, aside from Christina taking a shine to a guy with a tattoo, the night lacks in romance and with the chaos of the evening over and the pub closed, Glenda heads through to the bar to find masked burglars raiding the till.
When one of the men orders a terrified Glenda to get down on the floor, she does as she’s told and the robbers make off with the takings. Tearful and panicky, Glenda calls the police.
When Jenny returns home to find out that they’ve been burgled, Glenda puts on a brave face, but Jenny insists she takes the morning off. When Paul and Billy call at the Rovers to retrieve Paul’s laptop, they’re gutted to find out it was stolen by the burglars, leaving Glenda feeling terrible.
With the pub closed, Glenda offers Jenny and Daisy a nightcap, but as she heads through to the bar, she relives the awful events of the night before and it’s clear they’re taking their toll.
Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1
