Gloria suffers a heart attack as George testifies against Eddie in EastEnders

Can George and Gloria mend their relationship before it's too late?

FOR WEEK COMMENCING 8TH APRIL

George is shocked to receive a call from the CPS informing them that Gloria has given them information about Eddie and it’s not long before she arrives at The Vic encouraging George to testify.

Overhearing a clandestine phone call between Gloria and Eddie, George is angered as it becomes apparent that she is unable to turn her back on him, and orders his mum out of his life once and for all.

As George prepares to testify at Eddie’s trial, Cindy, having secretly spoken to Gloria, tries to convince him to talk to her, but George refuses.

Later, George is summoned to the Boxing Den by Eddie, who tries to convince him not to testify. But when George snaps and reveals Gloria encouraged him to testify, Eddie issues a chilling threat.

As George continues to shut Elaine out, she joins forces with Cindy and together they force him to reveal all and convince him to testify against Eddie.

But when he’s cross-examined by Eddie’s defence, Gloria shouts out in court, much to Eddie’s disgust.

As the court breaks, Eddie glares at George and Gloria who struggles to contain her emotion and baulks from the court room before collapsing outside.

Having suffered a heart attack, Gloria wakes in the hospital and asks George to retrieve a box from her flat containing important information about his childhood.

Whilst at the flat, George is overwhelmed by his memories and heads to the Boxing Den where Phil, who has just learnt that Ben has been sentenced to six years. As he's offered some words of advice, George is encouraged to go back to the hospital.

As George and Gloria take a trip down memory lane, he joins her on the bed to listen to a recorded lullaby from George’s birth mother.
