Grant returns to Walford for Nigel's final moments as Phil struggles in EastEnders
Can he convince Phil to say goodbye to Nigel before he passes?

25 APRIL - 1 MAY
A speeding car catches the attention of both Sam and Mark, who instantly recognise the driver. Grant’s back!
Mark tells Grant that he believes Phil is struggling and needs help, as he is refusing to see Nigel.
Visiting Nigel, Grant is left stunned as he was unaware how unwell he was, and is enraged that Phil didn’t tell him sooner. And Sam and Grant have a heart-to-heart.
Back in Walford, the three Mitchell siblings finally lay their cards on the table, prompting Phil to kick Sam and Mark out of No.55. Worried that Phil is on the edge, Sam believes that only Grant can help him.

Convinced that Nigel, Julie and the rest of the family don’t need him, a dishevelled Phil finds himself in a bad place.

With Nigel’s health declining and showing no sign of improvement, Julie decides it’s time to make him comfortable and stop Nigel’s treatment before informing Grant of her decision.
When Billy attempts to convince Phil to see Nigel, he's thrown out as Phil struggles to contain his grief.
As Grant sits by his bedside, Nigel unexpectedly awakens and requests something from his past. In search, Grant returns to No.55 and gives Phil a piece of his mind.
Later, when Billy and Mark go to Phil’s to try to reason with him, they are shocked to find the house empty. Believing he knows where Phil is, Grant arrives at a beach, but as he approaches, Julie calls, begging him to return, as Nigel hasn’t got long left.
Torn between his brother and his friend, Grant is left with a choice. Will he get to Nigel before it’s too late? Or choose Phil instead?
Grant pleads with Phil to go with him and say goodbye to Nigel, but despite time running out, Phil refuses to leave until he finds something.
After the brothers share a heated but emotional exchange, the pair rush back to get to Nigel, only to be faced with several setbacks along the way.
As Julie and various Walford residents say their goodbyes, Nigel holds on, and Phil makes it back just in time.
As Walford reels from the news of Nigel’s death, the residents decide to do something nice for Julie and Phil.
When they arrive back in the Square, the residents gather to welcome them home and announce their plans to celebrate Nigel.
In the wake of their loss, Julie is taken aback by how quickly the community has come together. But as Phil struggles to keep it together, Grant and Linda worry about him.
