Could revisiting the past change John Paul’s future?

Nancy is horrified to find a vial of steroids in Oscar’s bag. Despite John Paul suggesting keeping them out of it for now, the police are alerted, and Dodger arrives at the school with Smithy and launches a classroom search, suspecting a wider operation.

At the McQueens, Prince panics when John Paul reveals the police search, but they’re interrupted by Dodger. Sensing something isn’t right, Dodger confesses he believes Smithy is corrupt and urges them to be honest.

At the McQueens, Warren and Theresa review CCTV from the club, and Warren spots a familiar face, fuelling his thirst for revenge.

After hearing that Smithy has called a meeting with Prince and John Paul, Dodger tells Superintendent Singh that he’s worried for their safety.

When he and John Paul refuse to get in Smithy’s car, Prince finds himself with a bloody nose on the floor, and Dodger arrives in sirens before things get worse and arrests Smithy.

Furious, Nancy arrives at the McQueens, demanding answers, and, in custody, Smithy warns Dodger that Sully will come for him.

At the station, Dodger receives a parcel from the prison with headphones. Sully is on the other side and demands that he follow his orders. The McQueens are in danger, and Theresa answers a call from Dodger, where he urges she, along with anyone else there, remain in the house.

During Wednesday’s special “What if?” episode, marking John Paul’s exit, the soap revisits the original McQueen family in a bustling household. Asking, what if the original McQueen family were here in the present day?

Returning to our screens are Carmel, Michaela, Tina, Sally and Sylver as a series of ‘What If’ scenarios play out during a perilous situation, which leads John Paul to make a life-changing decision.

With no one to trust and Sully always watching, Dodger is forced to follow his commands in order to save his girlfriend and her family. With the household in lockdown, inside the McQueens safe house, John Paul reflects on where he is in his life and imagines what would have happened if he had made different choices, like never coming out to his family.

Hollyoaks continues Monday to Wednesday at 7pm on E4 with first look episodes available at 7am on Channel 4 streaming
