Inside No.9 guest stars revealed for Series 5

With filming now underway on the new series, the BBC have released a brand new photo from one of the episodes as well as the list of impressive actors who'll be joining Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton.

In this first look photograph released today, we can see that Ralf Little and David Morrissey will play football referees in one of the episodes and that's all the BBC are willing to reveal at this stage.

Other guest names confirmed are Maxine Peake, Jenna Coleman, Jill Halfpenny, Steve Speirs, Tom Goodman-Hill, Fionn Whitehead, Kadiff Kirwan, Debbie Rush and Ioanna Kimbook

The new six-part series follows last year's sensational live Hallowe'en episode Dead Line, and will stay true to the show’s anthology format with episode bringing an original story, a cast of new characters and surprising twists in the most unexpected of places.

Speaking about today's announcement, Reece and Steve have said "We’re delighted to announce a guest cast brimming with both emerging and established talent, all judiciously chosen to make us look a bit classier by association.”

BBC's Controller for Comedy Commissioning, Shane Allen added "Reece and Steve consistently dazzle  and delight with what is undoubtedly the most inventively prolific storytelling series on television. Their ability to subvert and surprise makes each show a unique experience for the viewers. It’s the antidote to a world of familiar cosy TV formats.”

It has also been revealed that Steve Pemberton will direct one episode from the new series, returning to the role since Cold Comfort and Nana’s Party.
