But can Sarah get to the bottom of what's really behind her decision?
For the first time since the pandemic, we will see Izzy in her home environment in scenes filmed by Cherylee Houston and her partner Toby Hadoke at their Manchester home. Actor Toby has joined the cast as Izzy’s concerned neighbour Fergus.
Facetiming Izzy, to chase up some samples, Sarah clocks a man in the background before Izzy kills the call. When Carla meets with Jo Lafoe, she presents her with Izzy’s samples, but it’s soon clear they’re not up to standard. Embarrassed, Carla assures her there’s been a mix-up.
After confronting Izzy over Facetime about her shoddy work, Carla tells Sarah that it's time she was told to return to the factory. And Sarah calls Izzy, to tentatively suggest she makes a return to work.
Describing the situation with Izzy as untenable, Carla tells Sarah that if Izzy refuses to come back to work, they’ll have to get rid of her.
Calling Izzy back, Sarah makes it clear that they want her back at the factory. However, she's taken aback when Izzy suddenly announces that she’d like to resign and Sarah tells Carla the news.
When Sarah video messages Izzy, Fergus steps in and tells Sarah that Izzy is struggling and needs to put her health first.
