Jacob tries to comfort Sarah following her devastating cancer diagnosis in Emmerdale

But how will he react to her IVF plans?

As she heads alone to get her biopsy results, Sarah's fears are confirmed at the Hospital, when the consultant reveals she has the early stages of cervical cancer.

Troubled, Sarah struggles to take in all the consultant’s information but is relieved to find out she may still be able to get pregnant. As she leaves the consultant’s office, her head is spinning.

Seeing her whilst on a shift, Jacob worries for his friend as Sarah tries to put on a brave face. When he offers her support, she can’t help but crumble and confess that she’s just been diagnosed with cancer.

Trying to comfort Sarah, Jacob asks how they found the cancer, and she's disappointed by his tepid reaction when she tells him she wants a baby, shocked by his bluntness.

Explaining what impact losing a mum can have on any child, Jacob continues to suggest she’s selfish for wanting a baby. Soon, Jacob is astounded to realise he’s the only one who knows about both the cancer and the IVF.
