ITV has today revealed that comedian, actor and presenter Jason Manford will host the world’s longest running entertainment show, The Royal Variety Performance, as it returns to the magnificent Royal Albert Hall in London for a fabulous evening in the presence of members of the Royal Family.

On hosting the prestigious evening, Jason Manford said "The Royal Variety Performance is always such a spectacular night, so I’m genuinely chuffed to be asked back as host. The last time I did it was in 2020 - which, if you remember, was during the pandemic. I had a virtual audience… was like doing a gig in front of a Curry’s window!"

"Nothing says showbiz quite like getting heckled by someone who’s accidentally left their mic on while eating crisps. So I’m very excited to see some actual real-life human faces in the audience this time!"

The Royal Variety Charity supports entertainment workers in need, by way of financial grants, funded mental health therapy, income support following accident or unemployment, and the provision of elderly care at its own care home, Brinsworth House.

Made by Lifted Entertainment, part of ITV Studios,The Royal Variety Performance will be line produced by Catherine Saint, executive produced by Fiona Clark for Lifted Entertainment alongside Giles Cooper OBE and Phil Dale for the Royal Variety Charity.

Performers for this year's Royal Variety Performance will be revealed in due course.

The Royal Variety Performance will air later this year on ITV1
