Jim's funeral brings back memories for Maggie in Corrie

Can Maggie keep her emotions in check?

 7-13 MARCH

Steve admits to Tim that he’s avoiding Cassie because he’s not sure that he wants to get married again.

Admitting he could do with some moral support, Steve invites Ben to Jim’s funeral, which makes Tim jealous, pointing out that at least he knew Jim, unlike Ben. And Maggie's disparaging when Ben explains he’s going to Jim’s funeral to lend Steve some moral support.

With neither Liz nor Andy attending Jim's funeral, having washed their hands of him a long time ago, Steve's nervous as he sets off.

When the funeral ends, the mourners gather in the Rovers. And as two of Jim's army mates, Declan and Davey, regale Steve with tales of Jim’s past, a sour-faced Maggie reminds Ben that he’s got a hospital appointment in the morning and suggests it’s time they were making tracks.

The following morning, Ben wakes up with a hangover, and a disapproving Eva reminds him that he’s due at the hospital for his echocardiogram. Back, having missed his appointment, Maggie’s further agitated.

Eva tells Maggie that whilst she realises Jim’s funeral must have stirred up memories of losing Ben’s Dad, she mustn’t take it out on the punters.

Coronation Street continues Monday to Friday at 8.30pm on ITV1 with first look episodes available from 7am on ITVX
