John pleads his case after Aaron calls off their wedding in Emmerdale

It's wedding day and John is tormented by nightmares of being arrested for Nate's murder as he and Victoria prepare for his wedding to Aaron.

Moira anxiously watches workers dredging the lake and when Cain reveals the dredging has begun, a panicked John starts packing to flee. Catching him mid-escape, Aaron is reassured it's just pre-wedding jitters.

The moment Aaron leaves, John continues packing and drives away from the village. Whilst hiding near the lake, John receives a loving text from Aaron and, upon seeing the workers down tools and learning the dredging has been cancelled, confirms he'll proceed with the wedding.

However, his plans are thrown into chaos when Cathleen, Aidan's mother, arrives with news her son has awakened from his coma and is asking for John.

Tormented by his nightmares, John envisions the new threat of Aidan interrupting his wedding. Snapping back to reality, John's concerned to hear of Aidan’s progress and assures Cathleen he has time to visit.

A concerned Aaron watches John leave with Cathleen and follows them to the hospital, fearing the worst. Witnessing him with Aidan, Aaron mistakenly believes John still loves him and heartbreakingly calls off the wedding despite John's desperate protestations.

In another vision, John once again foresees his wedding ceremony to Aaron. This time, just as they're about to wed, Aaron backs out, claiming that he doesn’t trust John. Snapping back to reality, John watches Aaron drive away from him.

Back at the Woolpack, Belle, Chas and Victoria awkwardly cover for the missing grooms in front of increasingly impatient guests.

Finding Aaron, John pleads his case, though Aaron remains unreadable as he considers whether to proceed with the wedding. After much tension, the pair finally arrive at the venue to the guests' palpable relief.
