Journalism in the age of outrage to be the focus of an Edinburgh TV Festival session

The Edinburgh TV Festival, supported by Screen Scotland, has announced a heavyweight new panel to explore Journalism in the Age of Outrage.

As we face an information landscape littered with AI, deep fakes and fake news, combined with a growing trend of engendered mistrust in the mainstream media, journalism is no longer simply competing to report facts first; it is competing to remain credible, human and psychologically trusted in an environment designed to destroy certainty.

Renowned, respected and seasoned broadcast journalists Cathy Newman from Sky News, Susanna Reid from Good Morning Britain and Clive Myrie from BBC News, will discuss what still cuts through, what it takes to find and impart the news as reliable and truthful information in this new age of misinformation and what is at risk if we don’t.
