Can their relationship survive?

 6-12 SEPTEMBER

After discovering that the chickens have been killed by foxes, Nigel and Julie are upset, but the pair soon discover that Nigel is accidentally to blame.

As they both argue, Nigel becomes distressed by his lack of memory and later, grows suspicious of Julie’s mystery phone calls. But despite Julie insisting that her call is about a prospective job, the conversation stirs up old feelings.

Floored, Nigel asks Phil to take him away from Walford to the countryside for a day trip.

As Nigel takes Phil on a pilgrimage through the countryside to find a time capsule he buried with Grant when they were kids, Phil tries to dissuade Nigel as his efforts appear to be in vain.

However, the pair are both surprised when Nigel leads them to the exact spot and the pair are shocked to discover its contents and later have a heart-to-heart.

As Nigel and Phil arrive home following their trip in the countryside, Julie feels sidelined and is nervous as Phil and Nigel playfully help her prepare for her job interview at the school.

Later, Nigel mistakes George for Julie’s previous lover and Julie misses her job interview to stay home to care for him.

EastEnders continues Mondays to Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One with first look episodes available from 6am on BBC iPlayer
