Kate Robbins joins EastEnders next month

She'll play music agent Jen Glover for what's being described as a short stint.

Jen is an old friend of Brian Conley's character Rocky and is called to The Vic to meet an upcoming musical talent that Rocky has discovered at the markets of Albert Square, Whitney.

An old-school rocker, the no-nonsense Jen is determined to make Whitney a star but does she have what it takes?

Talking about her upcoming role Kate said "I am so excited to be joining EastEnders as Jen, we had a ball filming the scenes. It was surreal to be sat in the Queen Vic for my first scenes with some of the legends of Albert Square. Working alongside the team was a dream and I can’t wait to see the scenes on screen."

The actress, singer and songwriter starred in her own comedy television series in the 1980s alongside her brother in The Kate and Ted Show, and then sketch show The Kate Robbins Show.

She was also in both series of Victoria Wood’s dinnerladies, before going on to be the lead voice artist on the satirical show Spitting Image. More recently Kate has had roles on Holby City, Citizen Khan, Hold The Sunset and the upcoming season of Ricky Gervais' After Life.

EastEnders continues Mondays with all episodes available on iPlayer ahead of being shown on BBC One
