Kel's death is confirmed in Corrie

But was it an accident? Or was it murder? And did Paul have something to do with it?

Last week, we saw Billy confide in Sean that he feared Kel was dead and worried about how the news would affect Paul. This week, at Mary's suggestion, her and Billy call at the police station to find out if the body was definitely Kel’s.

Paul is distraught when Billy reveals that a body was found in the canal. Told that it might be Kel, Paul heads out and leaves Billy worried. When Billy finds Paul drinking in Victoria Gardens, he can see that he is struggling with the news despite his bravado.

Bernie meanwhile is delighted that Kel has died as a police officer calls round to confirm the body was Kel. As Paul is asked a series of questions, he asserts that he’s not surprised Kel was murdered, however the officer points out that he never said he was.

When Billy tentatively asks Paul what makes him think Kel has been murdered and if he had anything to do with it, Paul becomes angry and defensive.

Later, calling at the flower shop flat, Craig confirms that they’re not looking for anyone in connection with Kel’s death as it was accidental. Billy’s relief is evident and Paul watches him, hurt and angry to realise that Billy seriously thought he’d murdered Kel.

Corrie continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV
