Kojo runs away as George and Elaine argue over having him around in EastEnders

Can he be convinced to stay in Walford?

 7-13 SEPTEMBER

After a difficult conversation leaves Elaine shaken up, George and Kojo have a fun day out together. When they return to The Vic, Johnny accidentally triggers Kojo, who hits out at him.

During a heated conversation, Elaine explodes and tells George that Kojo has to go because they aren’t equipped to manage his needs, unaware that Kojo is listening.

Trying to calm the situation, George heads off to make Kojo a drink, but while he’s out, his brother slips out of The Vic.

When he returns to find Kojo missing, George is distraught and blames Elaine for driving him to run away.

When the police arrive to help in the search for Kojo, George freezes guilty Elaine out.

Waking up in his hiding place, Kojo heads for the tube station. Spotting him, Junior tries to convince Kojo to come back to The Vic with him, but his uncle tells him he wants to go home to Ghana.

As relations remain frosty between George and Junior, Cindy gives Junior some advice about George, encouraging him to give his dad a chance.

Later, after he and George share a poignant moment, Junior texts Cindy to ask if he can thank her properly later.

EastEnders continues Mondays to Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One with first look episodes available from 6am on BBC iPlayer
