Will Joel miss the birth but find Cleo?
2-8 NOVEMBER
With Abe on edge over captive Cleo, Joel trying to get in touch with her is adding pressure. and she tentatively suggests that maybe it's time for her to come home from ‘Bali’ and be together on the outside.
However, this just frustrates Abe who shuts it down saying that Cleo would be vilified. He might have forgiven her for his mum’s ‘death’ but the village haven’t.
Meanwhile, Leela is nervous about her hospital induction the following day but Joel reassures her that everything will be fine and things soon turn poignant as Leela discusses unrequited love.
When Joel receives a voicemail from Cleo telling him to leave her alone, Leela is furious that he has messaged her ex and sends him fleeing. But before she can be induced, Leela’s waters break and Abe goes in the ambulance with her, with Joel unaware that she has gone into labour.
At Dee Valley hospital, Leela’s labour is progressing. In pain, she panics that Joel won’t be there and that something might go wrong. With Leela distraught that Cleo has led to Joel leaving her in her hour of need, Abe insists Cleo is 1,000 miles away.
In reality, she's alone in her flat and as she ventures around the living room, Joel, having ignored Leela's call and on a quest to find Cleo, thinks he's heard her voice singing.
Back at the hospital, things settle down when the midwife shows Leela that the baby has a strong and healthy heartbeat and everything is progressing normally. She just needs to reach Joel..
As Joel eventually races to Leela's side, she is forced to have Abe as her birthing partner just as Joel arrives, after their daughter. What follows is a touching bedside scene as the Lomax family gather.
Later, when left alone, Leela can’t stop crying and she tells Joel she is just overwhelmed.
Back at the flat, Abe is shocked when Cleo surprises him with new wedding plans. She wants to get away from Hollyoaks, just the two of them for a fresh start. But will Abe agree to this?
