Noticing how down Linda is as Janine is being sentenced today, Alfie tries to cheer her up with Coronation party talk, but she doesn't want to know. And he confides in Jean who tells him that it's because the poor woman is serving a life sentence of her own without Mick.
After hearing the verdict of Janine's sentencing, Linda is left shaken and Alfie tries to comfort her. Consumed by her loss, Linda breaks the bad news that she can't face throwing the Coronation party without Mick.
