After deciding to secretly marry, Liv is excited when Vinny tells her about a friend of a friend who’s a registrar and willing to bend the rules slightly. But with Mandy still in the dark about their engagement, they joke about what she’d do to them if she found out after they got married.
As Liv and Vinny are excited about their plans, Liv feels guilty about her secret wedding plans and they both conceal their doubts from each other about not telling their family.
The next day, Liv’s thrown when Vinny tells her a spot has opened up and asks if she wants to get married tomorrow. And with both of them feeling guilty about leaving the family out of their engagement news, they're left in a bit of a dilemma.
Later in the Hide, Laurel’s excited when Liv and Vinny tell her that they’ve cancelled their elopement, but when Chas and Mandy arrive having heard the backend of their conversation, Liv and Vinny suddenly wonder how to get out of the hole they’ve dug.
When Chas comes to the conclusion that Liv is drinking again, she and Mandy exchange words and Paddy walks in at the wrong time and senses the atmosphere.
Seeing the drama caused at Chas’ small birthday lunch, Liv and Vinny wonder how they’re going to tell their family and finally settle on a decision. Packing their overnight bags, they both make their way to Daventry to get married.
Back in Emmerdale, the Dingles are starting to worry when they discover that Liv and Vinny have gone missing. After seeing the many messages left on his phone by Mandy, Vinny's torn. Will the couple go through with tying the knot?
