But can she be convinced to do so?
21-27 SEPTEMBER
With Tom still at large and rumours abound he’s still secretly seeing Amelia, this week, Belle gets a call from Kim (her landlord) that the house has been left in a mess.
Soon, Lydia supports Belle as they prepare to enter the house together. Inside a messy Dale Head, Belle notices a screw on the floor and identifies it as a mini secret camera and is mortified by the revelation how Tom has been secretly filming her.
The next day, Lydia tentatively encourages Belle to go to the police when she describes feeling violated by Tom’s hidden cameras.
But when Belle adamantly refuses to report her ex-husband, scared of having to relive traumatic experiences and share personal footage in court, Lydia is concerned.
Having reflected, Belle asks Lydia to share her experience reporting Craig to the police.
Whilst Belle’s left thoughtful, Lydia’s upset after bringing the memories back to life but hopes it has aided Belle.
Elsewhere, Amelia gets the wrong end of the stick and gives Belle and Chas both barrels for their campaign against Tom.
That evening, the pair reflect on their difficult day as they gaze over the Dingle land. United in their support for each other, Lydia hopes she’s said enough to encourage Belle to go to the police.
Meanwhile after some digging, Amy and Kerry both suspect that Amelia must still be in contact with Tom.
Having seemingly revised her opinion of Tom, there is hope when Amelia arranges to meet privately with Belle to talk about him. But is Amelia to be trusted in this regard or is she too now under Tom’s influence?
Alone at the Dingle's, Belle waits for Amelia but is horror-struck when Tom lets himself in, blocks her exit and proceeds to lock the doors. What will Tom do next?
Emmerdale continues Mondays to Fridays at 7.30pm on ITV1
