How will her surprise arrival affect her sons' relationships?
FOR WEEK COMMENCING 18TH MARCH
With Mercedes nervous about her upcoming scan, Peri tries to calm her nerves and things are looking up for Joel and Leela as they head to the scan together.
Cleo goes with Mercedes to her scan and after asking her how long she'll keep punishing him and Theresa, Abe turns up at the hospital and grovels to Cleo for overreacting earlier.
When Leela and Joel invite Mercedes to join them for their gender reveal party at The Dog, she decides she also wants a party. And Leela isn't pleased when she realises Mercedes has decided to turn the gender reveal into a joint party.
As they pop their balloons, Joel and Abe end up on the floor as a fight breaks out between the brothers. But things come to a sudden stop when their mum, Marie, walks in wearing Mercedes' dress she’s stolen.
However, after the fight leaves both pink and blue confetti raining down, Mercedes and Leela are confused as to whose is whose.
Later, Marie tells Joel and Abe that she wants to make amends following her release from prison, but Joel tells his mum he doesn’t want anything to do with her.
A conversation between Abe and his mum leaves us believing that there’s more to why she has turned up at Hollyoaks and Marie and Mercedes clash after discovering that Warren is back.
Later, with Mercedes out for Marie, the two women have a run in at The Dog as Marie has a drink thrown over her.
After trying to encourage Mercedes to reach out to Warren and let him be part of his baby’s life, Joel is told that she wants her babies to have a dad and he needs to get Marie to go away.
When she tries to steal a bag in The Loft, a drunken Marie makes a scene and back at the McQueens', Abe pushes Cleo away so he can be alone.
Meanwhile, Joel tells Warren that he won’t let him break up his family and Mercedes tries to reason with Warren. Can she get through to him?
Hurt over Abe, Cleo confides in Joel who suggests she slow down her relationship with him after all the drama. But she tells him it's too late now that they live together. After extending an olive branch to Abe, Joel brings up Cleo which is when Abe snaps and walks out.
Later, Abe manipulates Cleo into believing she's the one sabotaging their relationship and suggests they go on a break. When Cleo helps Theresa with childcare, Abe calls her angry claiming she stood him up at the pub.
Telling her it's not working living at the McQueens, Abe tells Cleo that he’s going to move out. Overhearing the conversation, Zoe suggests that if Cleo is made to feel hurt all the time maybe it’s not working.
Meanwhile, Joel tells Leela he doesn’t want his parents in his life, wanting to focus on her and the baby.
