What will the consequences be for Matty? And will Samson be OK?
FOR WEEK COMMENCING 3RD JUNE
Worried about Samson’s plans to head around Europe by car with his new friend Josh, Lydia secretly hopes he will fail his test and the second hand car Sam has given him will not be road worthy.
However, it’s not long before Cain gives his motor a seal of approval, leaving Samson chuffed.
When Samson rolls up without ‘L’ plates, Josh announces that Samson passed his driving test and Samson is miffed by Lydia’s perfunctory congratulations.
Celebrating in the HOP, Josh, feeling slightly dismissed by Sarah, is unsubtly interested in newly-married Amy and hits on her again and it's clear that he knows that Matty is trans.
Struggling to cope with Josh’s endless flirting, Amy leaves work early. And Josh is left fuming when Matty gives Josh some home truths about his behaviour and tells him and Samson to leave the premises.
As Matty gets the upper hand on him again, Josh’s ire grows and outside HOP, he starts dead-naming Matty before heading back inside to teach him a lesson. Despite his misgivings, Samson follows.
As the situation between Matty and Josh grows increasingly hostile for Matty, Josh starts threatening him to give up the money in the till. The stand-off escalates and Josh shoves Samson into Matty, causing him to be stabbed by the knife that Matty was holding.
With Samson bleeding out and Josh standing back accusing Matty for coming at them with the knife, Matty is stunned to realise the narrative has been turned and panics about what the consequences might be for him.
Emmerdale continues Mondays to Fridays at 7.30pm on ITV1
