Realising how tight money is for Mercedes, Warren helps her and encourages her to go out with him to distract her from Felix.
Meanwhile, Ella receives the DNA results and Norma tells her even if they’re negative, she’d like them to remain friends. Running late for school Ella leaves the unopened results with Norma.
As Cindy and Dave accompany Ella to Norma’s for lunch, they're shocked to discover that Ella has taken a DNA test and try to convince her not to open the letter. Arriving with Mercedes, Warren's temper rises after discovering that his mum and Ella have gone behind his back.
Meanwhile, she and Cindy try to track Ella down, something Norma said plays on Cindy's mind and she asks Dave if she’s just a rebound to which he reassures her. Calling a family meeting to confront her dad on what’s going on between him and Cindy, Lizzie is hurt to discover that Mason was aware of them hooking up and she's the last to know. And Dave asks for Sam’s help in getting Lizzie to accept Dave and Cindy’s blossoming relationship but things don’t go well.
Later, Mason tries to cheer Ella up while walking by the Garage and Mercedes forces Warren to admit his feelings whilst we see an unconscious Felix lying on the floor. And Warren soon has to hold Mercedes back when Cindy taunts her.
