Ned pressures Ryder to conform after overhearing his plans to come out in EastEnders

To celebrate becoming co-owner of Harry's Barn, Ned rallies the community whilst putting Ryder under increasing pressure after an old football coach encourages him to return to the sport.

When Nicola learns about the struggles faced by one of Ryder's former teammates after coming out, she begins to better understand Ryder's reluctance and Ryder later confides in Nicola about the man he's been seeing and his concerns about Ned's influence over his life.

Encouraged to be honest with those closest to him, Ryder resolves to have an important conversation with his mum, unaware that Ned has overheard him asking to speak with her that evening.

As the Hawkins celebrate a successful event, Ned continues to pressure Ryder to conform while reminding Mark of the consequences should his affair be exposed, and after Lauren urges him to do whatever it takes to protect their secret, Mark reluctantly carries out Ned's orders.
