Will Leanne help Sam beat the ban?
In a bid to bolster Sam’s confidence, Roy arranges for him to play Brian at chess, but Nick is concerned to learn Sam’s fallen behind with his schoolwork while focussing on chess.
Despite Leanne telling him to go easy, Nick puts his foot down and tells an upset Sam that he's not to play chess for a while.
Nick admits to Gail that he’s worried Sam is using chess as a distraction so he doesn’t have to think about his mum’s death.
When Brian enthuses about Sam’s talent for chess, Leanne reaches a decision and later makes out that Sam’s got an after school club. Nick’s pleased to think he’s mingling with kids his own age.
Meanwhile, in the cafe, Leanne watches as Roy plays chess with Sam. Will Nick find out?
