Nigel fails to recognise Clare as her return sparks fresh drama in EastEnders

Could Nigel's care home move force the family to unite?

Julie is pleased when the care home calls to say Nigel’s place is available when he’s ready to leave the hospital.

However, Julie and Phil have another decision to make when Nigel keeps asking to see Clare. But when Phil tries to convince Julie to call Clare, she puts her foot down.

When Lexi hears about the situation, she gives Julie a new perspective, and Julie decides to make the call.

When Clare makes a surprising arrival at No.55, she and Julie trade barbs as Phil warns there can’t be any drama at the hospital. And when they arrive to see Nigel, Clare is shaken when he doesn’t recognise her and gets upset.

Later, Clare bonds with Lexi, who implores her to make things up to Nigel while she still can.

After discovering that Clare and Lexi have discharged Nigel without telling her, Julie is furious, whilst Kat and Zoe get the pub ready for a party in Nigel’s honour.

As the community rallies around, Nigel arrives, and Chelsea supports Clare as she and Julie struggle to resolve their differences.

Later, as Yolande supports Julie, Clare and Phil take Nigel to the care home to settle him in. However, the enormity of the situation takes a heavy toll on all three of them.
