Paddy prepares for the worst as Eve begs him not to go in Emmerdale

Could this be his last night in the village?

Young Eve is upset by gossip about Paddy’s arrest, leading Paddy to bravely tell her he may go to prison for helping her Grandad. Heartbroken, Eve begs him not to leave.

Witnessing Paddy's distress, Mandy impulsively suggests letting Bear take the blame, which disgusts Paddy, who storms out. Finding him, Mandy reconciles with Paddy, and despite their fear about the impending trial, she firmly commits to him.

During his visit to the prison, Paddy tries to comfort an anxious Bear, who is spiralling about the bank account that the police found, and they are both shocked to see Simo, whom Bear thought had been murdered. And Paddy hopes Simo will testify for Bear.

Outside the prison, Paddy pleads with Simo, who refuses, and while Simo admits Bear doesn't deserve prison, he fears the impact on his own mental health.

With the trial ahead, Paddy is left worrying and isn't optimistic as he looks out over the village, worried about what the future will bring.

Alone, an overwhelmed Paddy stands in the doorway to Tenants and takes a good look at the village he has called home for decades, wondering whether tonight will be his last night there.
