Paddy's return to work sends him spiralling ahead of court case in Emmerdale

Can Marlon help Paddy out of the darkness?

Despite Paddy wanting to return to work for a distraction, being suspended means he can’t practice yet. But Rhona lets him man the reception to do admin only.

However, when he botches an attempt to help a desperate client's cat, it leads to disappointment from Vanessa and chastisement from Rhona for stepping in, leaving Paddy crestfallen.

When a letter with Paddy and Dylan’s court date arrives, Paddy tries to help Dylan remain positive by insisting they do something fun.

Later, Paddy and Mandy look on proudly as Eve gives Dylan a drawing of the family, including Dylan.

Arriving at the vets later, Paddy takes a long look at the bolt gun and flashes back to his attempted suicide. Panicking, Paddy leaves and knocks frantically on Marlon’s door. When Marlon answers, he quickly pulls Paddy into a hug.

Spiralling, Paddy panics about what the upcoming court case means for his family and how worried he is about going to prison.

As Marlon tries to urge him not to catastrophise, Paddy wonders if he can pull himself out of the darkness he feels, and Marlon suddenly has an idea of how to distract his friend.

Arriving at Celia’s farm with sledgehammers, Paddy is finally cheered by smashing the place to bits. But can Marlon come to terms with his demons, too?
